Resources:
We never completely endorse all the thoughts of any human teacher. Make sure you put all resources through the Berean Test (Acts 17:11).
I referenced Denethor, the "Steward of Gondor," who leads the Gondorian people from the capital city of Minas Tirith. His position is STEWARD until the promised king (their messiah figure - Aragorn) takes the throne. Denethor neither wants to give up power or make strong, assertive decisions. He is ultimately an archetype of the anti-steward. If you're interested in reading the entire novel of Lord of the Rings, which contains a tremendous amount of Christian insights, Denethor's portion occurs in the 3rd volume - The Return of the King.
